Give the lampshade you love a new lease of life

I’ll remake your favourite lampshade in a fabric you love & guide you through every choice.

Lampshade remake service: your favourite shade, remade by hand

My lampshade remake service gives your existing shade a new life. I strip off the old fabric, repair and refinish the frame, then rebuild the shade by hand in a fabric of your choice. It’s ideal if you love the shape, the shade has sentimental value, or you simply can’t find anything to replace it.

You don’t need to know what fabric to choose. I’ll help you with fabric and trim suggestions at every step, and I’ll tell you honestly whether your shade can be remade. Take a look at why people choose to remake below, see some before-and-after examples, then send me a photo and tell me about your shade.

A shade with a story

If it belonged to a relative, or has been in your home for years, I’ll keep the frame and give it a fresh look that compliments your decor.

Not on the High Street

Can’t find the right sized lampshade, shape or colour on the high street? Remaking means you get exactly what you want to match your interiors.

You love the shape

Some shades are simply the perfect shape, but it’s looking tired. I strip and refresh the frame, then remake in your chosen fabric.

Every lampshade has a story

Saving a lampshade frame from landfill is one of the favourite parts of my job. You’ll see from these before pictures, some of the lampshades I work with are in a sorry state.  Each one kept its original frame and shape, was stripped back, and remade in the customers chosen fabric.

If you’re sat looking at a lampshade that could do with a refresh, get in touch and lets see what we can do.

Lampshade Remake Service FAQs

Can any lampshade be remade?
Most can, as long as the frame is sound. Send me photos and I’ll tell you honestly whether yours is suitable. I can often repair rust to a lampshade frame. Send me some photos and I’ll let you know if I think it can be remade.
Can you remake a vintage or antique lampshade?
Yes, and it’s what I do most. Vintage and antique frames are often better made than modern ones, so they’re well worth keeping. Send me photos and I’ll tell you honestly whether your shade can be remade, and what it will need.
Can you copy the original look of my vintage shade?
Yes. If you want it to look period-correct, I can suggest fabrics, trims and finishes that suit the style and era of your shade. If you’d rather give it a new look, I can help with that too.
What fabrics can I use?
Some fabrics work better than others, but fabric choices depend on the type of lampshade, the weight of the fabric, pattern and how the light shines through. I’ll help you choose, and can suggest trims to finish it. You can also send your own fabric if it’s suitable.
What if the frame is damaged?
If the frame is damaged, or miss-shaped I may not be able to remake. Once I have photos from you I shouls be able to determine whether it can be remade. If it cannot be remade, I can suggest new frames that may give you a similar end result.
How long does it take?
Most remakes take 3 to 4 weeks from when I receive your shade. I’ll confirm timings in your quote.
How much does a lampshade remake cost?

The price depends on the size, the shape and the fabric. Remaking prices start from £90. I’ll send you a clear quote before I start, so there are no surprises.

Do you remake shades from outside South Yorkshire?
Yes. I work with customers  and interior designers across the UK. 😊

“I had inherited the lamp & shade from my parents, & the shade hadn’t been recovered since 1963. It was in a sorry state… Caroline guided me through fabric choices… [and] set to work making the skeleton good again, removing rust & respraying… The shade she produced is amazing, finished to a very high standard… it has received so many compliments.”
