Lampshade Making Workshops

Learn to make a professional drum lampshade on a lampshade making workshop in Sheffield, with me, Caroline.

No sewing skills are needed.

In a small group of no more than six, I’ll show you how to make a drum lampshade from scratch, sharing the tips and tricks I’ve learnt over the years. You’ll have plenty of time to ask questions, and you’ll go home with a lampshade you’ve made yourself, for a lamp base or a ceiling light.

I run workshops at venues across South Yorkshire, and tea, coffee and homemade cake are included. If there isn’t a date or venue that suits you, please get in touch. I’m always looking for new venues and can tailor a workshop for your group.

• Length: 3.5 to 4 hours

• You make: one 25cm or 30cm drum lampshade, for a lamp base or a ceiling rose
• Price: £60pp
• Included: all materials, plus tea, coffee and homemade cake

What to bring with you…

Bring half a metre of fabric, ideally cotton or linen, which gives a lovely finish. Please don’t bring silk or satin. If you’d like the stripes on a striped fabric to run horizontally around your shade, you’ll need about 1.4m. If you don’t have fabric, I’ll have a small selection you can buy on the day.
